work sucks..

..a little more than usual today, prolly cause I'm missing sleep.

haven't touched the album material, but I been playing the hell outa my new toys:
ea-1, er-1 (mkII)
they are fuuuunnnn. and when I hookem up to my computer and seperate the pieces and slap a little "production jelly" on em, they sound pretty good too.

being able to track pitch changes on the er-1 (mkII feature) allows me to do a whooole lot with it one would not normally be able to do with a drum machine.

FIXED! (like 2 weeks ago)

just in case you're reading this thing...

Now I'm only partially fucked.

So here's the current situation

"the lounge" (my studio/perpetual mess) is now defunct, due to "operation baby room" paving clean over it. No big deal. the synthrack/desk just got relocated to a corner of the bedroom. the con's of this being:
-can't make beats while janette sleeps,
-company not-so-invited to the bedroom. This makes it difficult to have music friends over
but this mild issue pales in comparison to this problem:

My computer won't work.
There's something wrong with my videocard; No picture on the monitor. Safe mode works fine, but when I start it up normally, I get the boot screen then darkness. and if I hit enter, I get my "welcome to windows" sound (which ironicly is "BEWARE, I LIVE" from sinistar)

if this were merely the case, I could just pop in a new one, install some drivers, and off I'd be, right? unfortunately, I have one of those "all in one" motherboards.

so yeah, no album for a little bit. I'm fairly bummed out.

and............yeah.

I've discovered that coke (in the can it seems) gives me a headache.....
I'm not sure why.

Good God, 70 min!! how long are most techno albums? I still have tracks leftover too! I'm probably gonna release them as a free EP for promo for the album....
I can safely say it took from dec of last year and It will take all of this year to complete.
it feels kinda weird to look at a years work for me.
I'm kinda worried because alot of these tracks are fairly different from each other.
goofy mash-up house, techno, hardcore, rave, electro... and a bunch in-between. maybe I can make the moods transition well.
dude, I have no idea....
Jason of (http://www.fantasyviolencerecords.com/) is going to pay for most of it, he says, but I wonder how he'll get the money....I'm capable of paying for most of it actually, but baby and stuff, ya know?
Is 10$ a pop too much? too little? I mean, it's fucking 70 min!! I worked over a YEAR on it.
I DON'T KNOW!!!!
I have no idea how I am going to beat the cover of my last album..don't even know where to start. but I better get a good idea....
1000 cdr's in a blank jewel case w/black thermal printing:
inserts and tray papers for the 1000 CD cases:
148$ (http://www.whitetigerprinting.com/) (i got the HOOK UP N*GGA!)
(+countless hours of putting all that shit together!!!)
I have no idea for mastering... I think I'm gonna go with this local guy who owns a studio called "soundworks media" he really knows his shit. I dunno how much he'll charge me though.
who of you do da master'n? whatchu want?
I'd like suggestions on any of the things discussed today.

at work blog

I work at LG wireless.
It's pretty cool except for the fact that I'm not "permanant" yet. my wife is preggers and I need health ins for real though,

speaking of which, my last job makes this job look loke a cream dream. this job is pretty sweet though. Open work floor, I can have plants, my call times aren't jammed down my throat, and I don't have to tell anyone their health ins ain't gonna pay for shit.

don't get pacificare btw. total crooks.

aaaaanyways.
I'm supposed to be working on an album for jason's label: http://www.fantasyviolencerecords.com (check it out!)
I'm gonna be the first-make-or-break release and he's paying for most of it and he's my friend.
So I'm a littttle worried. Sadly, I don't believe I can sell 1000 cds, and Ironically enough the album is going to be called "Unrelenting Optimism in the Face of Adversity", but I think I'm gonna go with the title of my second demo "#1 DANCE HITS FOR YOUR FACE TO SIP ON!"
oh snap.
